Teaching the Latino Student

Description

Latinos are the largest minority and the fastest growing ethnic group in the U.S. population. Many teachers are not aware of exactly how to provide a quality education that is relevant to Latino students; and will provide success, achievement, and high school graduation, as well as a solid preparation for college or career. This course attempts to provide that awareness and insight for successfully teaching Latino students.

Course Type

This is a non-classroom, self-directed, independent study courses, which may include DVDs, CDs, audio/video tapes or other materials and assignments to be returned by mail. Some traditional courses are all home study, others require visits to various locations in the area being studied, and some offer a choice of both. You may earn between one and four semester hours of credit for a Traditional Course, depending on the course you choose.
