Description

This course looks at our great National parks and their preservation for coming generations. It details the dangers confronting them from crowds of people, the forces of nature itself; and man-made dangers such as pollution, acid rain and other contemporary problems. It also examines the lives and challenges of the rangers charged with protecting this environment.

This is a non-classroom, self-directed, independent study courses, which may include DVDs, CDs, audio/video tapes or other materials and assignments to be returned by mail. Some traditional courses are all home study, others require visits to various locations in the area being studied, and some offer a choice of both. You may earn between one and four semester hours of credit for a Traditional Course, depending on the course you choose.
