The Pony Express: 19 Months of Glory

Description

Through texts, web site visits, and onsite visits (in the one-credit section only) you will be engrossed in the saga of the Pony Express. Though only in operation 19 months, its affect was everlasting. This course explores the lives of the founders, the riders, the routes, the dangers, and the experiences associated with this legendary organization of men and horses whose only mission was to deliver the mail. There are no onsite visits in the three credit portion.

This is a non-classroom, self-directed, independent study courses, which may include DVDs, CDs, audio/video tapes or other materials and assignments to be returned by mail. Some traditional courses are all home study, others require visits to various locations in the area being studied, and some offer a choice of both. You may earn between one and four semester hours of credit for a Traditional Course, depending on the course you choose.
