Description

Species are vanishing almost daily from our planet, and sometimes it seems little is being done about it. Detractors will say 99.9% of all the species that ever lived have gone extinct and it can’t be helped. But can it? Three DVDs document a host of animals with which we are all familiar and are in danger of not surviving. In addition, a text examines what happens to animals when zoos have either a surplus of a species or if the animals become old and decrepit. The result is often cruel and beyond belief.

Course Type

This is a non-classroom, self-directed, independent study courses, which may include DVDs, CDs, audio/video tapes or other materials and assignments to be returned by mail. Some traditional courses are all home study, others require visits to various locations in the area being studied, and some offer a choice of both. You may earn between one and four semester hours of credit for a Traditional Course, depending on the course you choose.
