Maui: Beauty Born of Fire

Description

Maui truly is a lovely place to visit, but there is far more to it than beautiful beaches and tropical sunsets. In this course, you will become familiar with its rich whaling era as well as its warlike and fascinating history of powerful kings and their conquests. In addition, since Maui is so intimately tied to the sea, you will experience its vast oceanographic significance by visiting an ocean center that rivals any aquarium on the mainland.

Course Type

This is a non-classroom, self-directed, independent study courses, which may include DVDs, CDs, audio/video tapes or other materials and assignments to be returned by mail. Some traditional courses are all home study, others require visits to various locations in the area being studied, and some offer a choice of both. You may earn between one and four semester hours of credit for a Traditional Course, depending on the course you choose.
