Italy's Amalfi Coast

Description

This course acquaints you with the Amalfi Coast of Italy. In the at-home study portion, you will see photos of unmatched beauty, plus visits to Pompeii, Sorrento, Positano and other places you have only dreamed of, including the Isle of Capri and the famed Blue Grotto. The one-credit portion requires a visit to Pompeii to personally experience the site of a fantastic volcanic eruption that buried that city in 79 A.D. and a civilization that rivals today in luxuries and innovations.

Course Type

This is a non-classroom, self-directed, independent study courses, which may include DVDs, CDs, audio/video tapes or other materials and assignments to be returned by mail. Some traditional courses are all home study, others require visits to various locations in the area being studied, and some offer a choice of both. You may earn between one and four semester hours of credit for a Traditional Course, depending on the course you choose.
