Getting Kids Hooked on Jazz

Description

This course is designed to introduce young people to the world of jazz. At the same time, it provides instruction for the teacher in case he or she is not very knowledgeable in the field. Included are music CDs suitable for the classroom and some wonderfully entertaining texts. Although designed for elementary level students, it could be adapted for higher grades.

Course Type

This is a non-classroom, self-directed, independent study courses, which may include DVDs, CDs, audio/video tapes or other materials and assignments to be returned by mail. Some traditional courses are all home study, others require visits to various locations in the area being studied, and some offer a choice of both. You may earn between one and four semester hours of credit for a Traditional Course, depending on the course you choose.
