Description

Trace the history of Ellis Island and the steady progression of more than 12 million immigrants into the United States up to 1954. This course details their struggles to reach this Country, the fears and frustrations of the entry policies, and the utter despair of those turned away.

Course Type

This is a non-classroom, self-directed, independent study courses, which may include DVDs, CDs, audio/video tapes or other materials and assignments to be returned by mail. Some traditional courses are all home study, others require visits to various locations in the area being studied, and some offer a choice of both. You may earn between one and four semester hours of credit for a Traditional Course, depending on the course you choose.
